Assistant Manager Position

Summary

Assistant Managers work under the supervision of the Quality & Operations Manager. They are responsible in planning, coordination and controlling of processes. Assistant Mangers monitor:

Inspection of goods

The effectiveness of services

Ensure accurate amount is completed

Ensures customer quality standards are met

Provides administrative support to staff

 

Duties

 

An assistant manager helps in providing the process work instructions and schedule, overseeing quality control and ensuring products are on time or projects completed within the deadline. Other tasks of an assistant manger include budgeting, utilizing needed human and material resources, creating a timescale for process completion, supervising processes, and adjusting schedules when needed.

The assistant is also responsible for procuring and monitoring the use of equipment as needed for daily tasks or special projects.

Assistant manages also help in checking product standards and applying quality-control programs, liaising among different clients and departments, completing paperwork and performing various tasks as assigned.

 

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

 

Must have Automotive Quality knowledge/experience and the ability decisively act in important situations

Easily grasp concepts

Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office and other quality-related software

Great attention to detail

Negotiation skills

Good interpersonal skills

Verbal and written communication skills

Strong leadership

Problem-solving skills

Must also be able to work well under pressure during tight deadlines

 

The work of an assistant manager involves irregular hours, even during weekends or holidays. Most of the time, assistants need to extend their working hours, especially when meeting deadlines. This job may involve travelling.
